Obituary

Janet Mae Henderson, 84, died October 5, 2022 in Monroe, Michigan. Born March 2, 1938, she was the daughter of Mark and Hazel (Clark) Henderson.
Janet lived her entire life in Monroe, graduating from Monroe High School in 1957.Janet lived at Fountain View of Monroe, moving to Fountain View from Mable H. Kehres apartments where she had lived since 2014. Janet worked at the former Al's Diner of Monroe, the former Monroe and Frenchtown Convalescent Facilities and most recently at the Lutheran Home of Monroe where she retired in 2008.
Janet was always willing to help anyone who needed assistance and spent the majority of her earlier years helping family and friends. From running errands to checking in with family to see how they were doing, family and friends could always count on Janet to be there when needed.
Prior to the pandemic, Janet enjoyed eating with friends and acquaintances at the Monroe Senior Center and visiting her sister Peggy Welch, also a Fountain View resident, as often as she could. She enjoyed watching game shows and looked forward to visits from her Monroe County Opportunity Program care givers, Barb and Jolene, and the multiple, daily visits from her very good friend, Janie Groven.
Janet is survived by her niece, Laurie Scheich of Roseville, Minnesota; nephew, Larry (Julie) Scheich of Green Bay, Wisconsin; grand-nieces Jennifer and Jamie Beeler of Monroe; and many other nieces, nephews and family members.
