Jan Elizabeth Vanisacker, age 82 of Monroe, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024 in her home with her family at her side.
Born June 25, 1941 in Monroe, Jan was the daughter of the late Richard and Vivienne (Navarre) Arnold. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1959 and married Jerome A. Vanisacker on September 3, 1960 in Monroe. Together they raised two sons.
Jan was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and past officer of the Belgian American Club. She deeply loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Her hobbies and interests included traveling, bowling, gardening, watching sports, playing bunco, and visiting casinos.
Jan is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jerome Vanisacker; her two sons, Rick (Susan) Vanisacker of Monroe and Michael (Craig Bollerud) Vanisacker of Boca Raton, FL; three sisters, Cheri Duvall, Linda (Frank) Poniedzialek, and Robin (Russ) Matthews, all of Monroe; brother-in-law, Edward Vanisacker of Monroe; two grandchildren, Matthew (Kelsey) Vanisacker and Lauren Vanisacker.
Visitation and funeral services were privately held at Bacarella Funeral Home. Deacon Mike Stewart officiated followed by interment at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Jan's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Heartland Hospice and the physicians and nursing staff of ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital for the wonderful care given to Jan during her illness.
