James J. "Jamie" Poleo, age 50, a life long resident of Monroe, MI. passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at 7:25 PM in the Emergency Room at Mercy Memorial Hospital. Jamie was born March 31, 1957 in Monroe, MI the son of the late J. Joseph and Catherine M. (Oestrike) Poleo. Jamie attended the Coleman School in Detroit, MI and the Monroe County ISD. Jamie was employed as an assembler for CSDD Workshop in Monroe for many years. Jamie was a former member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and a current member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church both in Monroe. Jamie enjoyed going to church, bowling, bingo, basketball, movies, eating out, dancing and music, he especially enjoyed listening to the Beatles. Jamie loved spending time with his family and friends. He was especially close to Tom and Millie who were staff members at his home. Jamie is survived by his beloved sisters; Catherine A. Russeau of Ypsilanti, MI and Jo Anne (Ernest) Barron of Monroe, MI. his sister in law Georgetta C. Poleo of Monroe, MI and his brother in law James Hite of Tecumseh, MI. Jamie is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Sadly, in addition to his parents, Jamie was preceded in death by a sister Marilyn Hite and a brother William F. Poleo. Visitation for Jamie will be held on Thursday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home where a Rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM. On Friday, April 27, 2007 he will lie in state at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 10:00 AM until Mass of the Resurrection celebrating his life at 11:00 AM. Fr. William Fisher pastor of the church will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
