James Arthur Woods, 76 years, of Monroe, MI went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 26, 2012 in The Lutheran Home in Monroe. He had been in declining health for the past two months.
Born January 17, 1936 in Middlesboro, KY, Arthur was the son of the late Starling and Nora B. (Jordan) Woods. Arthur's family moved to Monroe in 1947.
Arthur was a member of Monroe Apostolic Church. Arthur enjoyed riding his bicycle and working on radio's and watches. Most of all Arthur enjoyed being with family
Arthur is survived by his sister: Trennia Cole and his brother: Harvey R. Woods both of Monroe, five nieces and five nephews.
In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe where funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Rev. John Schinkel, Chaplain at The Lutheran Home will officiate. Interment will follow at Historic Woodland Cemetery.
