Obituary

James Arthur Runyon, Jr. known to family and friends as "Jamie", "Jim" or "Junior", passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Vibra Healthcare - Corewell Health Taylor.
Jamie born January 5, 1963 in Monroe. He was the son of James A. and Barbara E. (Vick) Runyon. Jamie lived a life rich in love with Teresa Heady for the last 24 years.
Jamie attended Zion Lutheran School and was a 1981 graduate of Jefferson High School. He was confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church Monroe.
Jamie worked and was an owner of Runyon's Furniture and Flooring for many years and was an artist at his craft and took pride in his work.
Jamie loved tinkering with classic cars, motorcycles, fast boats and just about anything that had a motor in his barn, while blasting Kid Rock. He was a member of Monroe L.E.O.P.A. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Jamie was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his parents, James and Barbara Runyon; fiancée, Teresa Heady; siblings, Kelly J. (Dean) Castiglione and Tony P. (Courtney) Runyon; nieces and nephews, Janea (Joe), Tyler (Bailey), Brady, Brennan, Braelyn, Brexton, Brolan and Breklyn, great nieces and nephews, Garrett, McKenzie, Harper and Blake; stepdaughter, Kimberly Heady, step grandson, Aubrey Hunter. Jamie is also remembered by numerous relatives and a wide circle of friends whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 12 noon at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe. Rev. Mark Witte, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe.

Jamie's vibrant personality and spirit left a lasting impact on all those who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever be cherished by those who loved and knew him. God is holding him in his arms now, but he will forever be in our hearts.
