Obituary

James R. Horney Sr., 44, of Newport, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2007. He was born in Monroe, MI on October 4, 1962 to Donald L. and Jewell M. (Hall) Horney. A lifetime resident of the area, he had attended Jefferson High School and received his G.E.D. from Monroe public Schools. James was employed by the Laborer's Local #499 and attended Faith Baptist Church. He was a member of Pheasants Forever who enjoyed "hunting in the maple" in Mecosta, MI, shooting pool and darts, and especially spending time with his grandson, Cameron. He leaves to cherish his memory his parents of Mecosta, MI, children, James R. Horney Jr. and Angela M. Horney, both of Monroe, grandson Cameron Caudill, brothers and sisters, Donald (M.J.) Horney of Temperance, Thomas (Chris) Horney of Monroe, Ronald (Pam) Horney of Ida, Darlene (Gerald) Tibai of Temperance, Donna Horney Roberts of Newport, Lori (Dwayne) Congioloso of Monroe, Patricia (Norman) Spencer of Lambertville, 26 nieces and nephews, and 28 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a nephew. Friends may call Wednesday at the Bacarella Funeral Home from 1-9 PM, and Thursday from 10 AM until funeral services commemorating his life at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. His uncle, Rev. Delmar Moore I, pastor of Grace Missionary Baptist Church will officiate.
