Obituary

James Everett Fletcher, Sr., 69 years, of Perrysburg, Ohio, formerly of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, Ohio. He had been in declining health for the past four weeks.
Born August 5, 1944 in Welch, WV, Jim was the son of the late Rev. George W. and Lola G. (Curry) Fletcher. Jim's family moved to Monroe in 1952. Jim attended Monroe Public Schools and was a 1962 graduate of Monroe High School.
On February 14, 1970, Jim married the love of his life, the former Wanda Faye Drummonds at Clark Street Baptist Church in Monroe.
Jim served his country honorably and proudly in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
Jim was employed as a coil coater for Wolverine Coil Coating for 30 years, until the plant closed. He then went to work as a hi-lo driver for Guardian Industries in Carleton, MI from which he retired in 2006.
Jim attended Bible Fellowship Church. Jim enjoyed collecting die cast mini cars, hunting, golf, riding his motorcycle, traveling, and watching television. Jim was a fan of the Detroit Tiger's and of football. He loved sitting outdoors and getting a tan. Most of all he loved his family.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Wanda, two loving children: Rhonda M. (Michael) Weithman of Perrysburg, OH and James E. "Jamie" Fletcher, Jr., of Temperance, MI. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister Brenda G. Prewitt.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 PM and Thursday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI. On Friday, April 25, 2014 he will lie in state at Bible Fellowship Church, 14395 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI, 48161 from 10:00 AM until funeral services celebrating his life at 11:00 AM. The Rev.'s J.D. Walker and Eugene White, will officiate.
Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Monroe, where the VFW post 1138 will conduct military honors.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Bible Fellowship Church.
