James R. Betz, age 65 of Monroe, MI, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026 in his home.

Jim was born on June 27, 1961 in Monroe.

He was employed for many years by Ford Motor Company at their Flat Rock and River Rouge plant locations. He was a former volunteer for the American Red Cross and enjoyed deer hunting, carpentry, building and home repair in his spare time.

Jim is survived by two sons, Charlie (Linda) Betz of S. Rockwood, MI and Johnny Betz of Newport, MI; their mother, Bonita Servey; five grandchildren: Ashley, Dylan, Johnathan, Vivienne, and Caleb; and brothers and sisters.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Melva Jean (Koester) Betz, and father figure, Charlie Allen.

A memorial visitation will be held at Bacarella Funeral Home on Friday, July 31st from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Cremation will follow in accordance with Jim’s wishes.
