James L. "Whiskey Jim" Arnold, 61 years, of Monroe, MI passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. Jim was born April 26, 1948 in Anaheim, CA the son of the late LeRoy James and Mildred (Segur) Arnold. Jim's family moved to Monroe when he was a child. Jim attended Monroe Public Schools and was a graduate of Monroe High School. Jim was an excellent mechanic, enjoyed woodworking and was the primary caregiver for his sister Sandra Kay. Jim also enjoyed motorcycles and was a member of the Iron Coffins. Jim will be remembered as a kind and caring man with a heart of gold. Jim is survived by his loving children; Lonnie James Arnold of Monroe and Kelli Sue Arnold of Erie, MI, 2 treasured granddaughters; Faith Lynn and Kayla Sue Arnold, 1 cherished great granddaughter Mallory Kiger, and 4 sisters; Lila Sterns, Carol Fairchild, Sandra Kay Arnold, all of Monroe and Connie (Michael) Johnson of Petersburg, MI. In keeping with Jim's wishes cremation will be held. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, April 22, 2010 in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd, in Monroe, 734-241-4600, from 11:00 AM until a memorial service celebrating Jim's life at 1:00 PM. Memorial contribution may be made to Jim's family.
