Jacqueline Kay Chinavare, age 82, of Newport, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026 in her home.
Jackie was born April 17, 1944 in Monroe, she was the daughter of Ralph and Roseanne (Polk) Sisung. She married Richard D. “Dick” Chinavare on February 14, 1995 in Toledo; he preceded her in death on July 9, 2021.
She was a 1962 graduate of St. Mary Academy and faithful member of St. Charles Church.
Jackie worked for many years at Kroger in the produce department, this is where she met and fell in love with her husband, Dick. They went on to marry and work together for many years; she retired in 2014.
Jackie enjoyed wintering in Fort Myers, FL at the Sun-N-Fun Mobile Home Village and RV Park for the past 12 years, riding her bike, swimming in the pool and visiting neighbors. She also enjoyed playing cards and playing pickleball. She loved to socialize and spend time with her family and friends. Of all these things, nothing was more important than her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed attending all of their activities and sporting events.
Jackie is survived by four children, Tracy (Robert) Bathgate of Ocqueoc, MI, Kevin (Jessica) Chinavare of Southgate, Kenneth (Carla) Chinavare of Newport and Keith (Paula) Chinavare of Riverview; a sister, Joanne (Roland) Benson of Millbury, OH; grandchildren, Jake Carlisle, Kennedi Kane, McKenzie Kane, Isabella Chinavare, Gabriel Chinavare, Keith Chinavare, Paige Chinavare, Adeline Chinavare, Shiloh Chinavare, Marissa Chinavare, Lilli Kamrath and Katelyn Osmulski; great grandchildren, Kylo Duffin and Rylee Chinavare; son-in-law, Gerald Alfred and many nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Shane Tomlinson; a daughter, Heather Alfred; a brother, Ralph Windels.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, where a scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. She will lie instate at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Church, Newport with Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. co-celebrating will be Very Reverend Fr. Melvin C. Blanchette P.S.S. and Reverend Fr. Hendrico Rebello SAC. Private burial will be at St. Charles Cemetery.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jackie’s memory be made to St. Charles Church and School or Angela Hospice.
