JACK E. UMFRESS of South Branch, formerly of Monroe, Michigan was called home April 30, 2013 at 75 years of age.
He was born September 26, 1937 in Red Bay, Alabama to Lawrence and Maudie Umfress.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lettie Florence.  Four children, Randy (Rena) Umfress, Michael Umfress, Kathy McCammon and Douglas (Linda) Umfress along with 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  Also survived by one brother, Eddie (Rosa) Umfress. He is preceded in death by his mother, Maudie Christy, one brother Pete Umfress and his step-brother, David Christy.
Jack was a member of U.A.W. Local 723 in Monroe. He enjoyed cooking and watching baseball, especially the Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 South Telegraph Road in Monroe, Michigan. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 5-8 P.M. at the Hale Chapel of the Buresh Funeral Home, 121 S. Washington in Hale and on Friday from 4-8 P.M. at the Bacarella Funeral Home in Monroe. Interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in LaSalle, Michigan. Memorial contributions suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
