Isabelle Cote', 88 years, of Erie, MI, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 9:05 AM in her home, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
Born July 1, 1924 in Brown City, MI, Isabelle was the daughter of the late Orville and Florence (Morell) Patrick. Isabelle attended North Branch High School in North Branch, MI and Toledo, Beauty School. During WWII Isabelle worked for Lapeer Fabricators and Hurd Lock Company in Almont, MI.
On January 7, 1981 Isabelle married her beloved husband, Francis A. Cote' in Las Vegas, NV. Sadly he preceded her in death on February 3, 1992.
Isabelle was a former member of Luna Pier Chapel, Bedford Senior Center and Luna Pier Center. Isabelle enjoyed traveling, her travels took her to such notable sites such as Egypt, Israel and Las Vegas. She also enjoyed taking cruises. She and her husband traveled to Arizona for several years until deciding to settle in Florida for the winter months. She enjoyed archery, bow and rifle hunting, crafts and bingo.
Isabelle was a wonderful homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Isabelle is survived by her loving son Douglas R. (Leslie) Walters of Harrison, MI, four cherished grandchildren: David (Carol) Easton, Sherrie (Vince) Modica, Sheila Kaufman, and Shelly (Ned) Yarger, eight treasured great grandchildren, two brothers: Clare (Ruth) Patrick of North Branch, MI, and Larry (Debbie) Gorsline of Nashville, TN, five sisters: Iva Cramer of Florida, Pearl (Norman) Maynard of Flint, MI, Elizabeth Hamel of Marlette, MI, Laura (David) Ling of Roseville, MI and Vera (Preston) Fife of Goodells, MI, two brother in laws: Arthur Churchill and Charles Cote, a sister in law: Dorothy Kinney and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Isabelle was preceded in death by two sisters: Dorothy Goss and Lucille Churchill.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe, where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 10:00 AM. The Rev. David Cornwell, Chaplain at Great Lakes Caring Hospice will officiate. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
