Iris J. Schroeder, age 93, of Monroe, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.
Iris was born December 10, 1931 in Monroe, she was the daughter of Ernest and Odelia (Miller) Schroeder.
Iris was a 1950 graduate of Monroe High School. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church and their Light of Revelation prayer group. She enjoyed bowling, reading and knitting.
She had been employed as a clerk at La-Z-Boy and then as a lunch aide at Raisinville Elementary School before her retirement.
For the past several years, Iris had been a resident of the St. Therese at I.H.M Senior Living, where she enjoyed spending time with the other residents and staff.
She is survived by cousins, Bill (Shelby) Neal and Marcella Mehki.
Iris is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Arnold Schroeder and a sister, Eunice Miller.
She will lie instate at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe. Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Humane Society of Monroe County of St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
