Obituary

Irene H. Reece, 95 years, went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning , November 25, 2011 at the Lutheran Home in Monroe. Born August 14, 1916 in Tazewell, Tennessee, Irene was the daughter of Hubert M. and Vettie (McDaniel) Crook. She married Ernest Edwards 1933 in Tazewell. She then married Crate Reece August 31, 1938 also in Tazewell.. Sadly he passed away April 13, 1980.  She had worked at Woodall Industries, GM Fisherbody Plant in Livonia and also at Fisher Woman's Apparel in Lincoln Park. She was very talented at sewing and making women's clothing. She also was a member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons Norman (Jeanine) Reece of Vallejo, California, Lanny (Jessie) Reece of Brownstown, Michigan, daughter Sandra (Bob) Roskovish of Mackinaw City, Michigan; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; a brother Thomas J. (Donna) Crook of Monroe and sister Edith Whittaker also of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her husbands Ernest Edwards and  Crate Reece, daughter Carol Foreman, and infant son Billy Thomas Edwards, sisters Ann Manor, Helen Frazier, grandchild Carolynn Ruth Reece  and brother John Crook.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 – 8 P.M. and Monday from 1 – 8 P.M. at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Road in Monroe (734-241-4600) where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. The Rev. Roy Southerland will officiate. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Flat Rock. Memorials are suggested to the Monroe Missionary Baptist Church.
