Hevodio Ramirez Garcia, 78 years, of Monroe, MI went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 4:55 PM in the Aberdeen Skilled Nursing Center in Trenton, MI. Hevodio was born May 6, 1931 in Kerrville, TX the son of the late Higinio and Marciana Ramirez Juarez. In 1950 Hevodio married Dora Garcia in Indiana. A skilled craftsman, Hevodio enjoyed his work as a concrete finisher and brick layer for Floyd P. Bucher and Son, Inc. in Toledo, OH from which he retired in 1970. Hevodio also enjoyed fishing, gardening and barbecuing. He attended the Spanish Church of God in Toledo, OH. More than anything in his life Hevodio enjoyed his family. Hevodio is survived by his beloved wife Dora, 13 loving children; David (Beverly) of Columbus, OH, Daniel of Columbus, OH, Louie (Martha) of Flat Rock, MI, Samuel of Monroe, Michael (Sara) of Gainesville, FL, Ramiro of Erie, MI, Marco of Monroe, Maria DeSloover of Novi, MI, Diana (Guillermo) Garcia of Punta Gorda, FL, Susan (Dimas) Orellana, Columbus, OH, Delinda (John) Cooner of Monroe, MI, Alisa (David) Novak of Menominee Falls, WI, Stella Garcia of Monroe, 33 cherished grandchildren and 35 treasured great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Susie Portillo of Monroe, and Juanita Vargas of Kerrville, TX. In addition to his parents Hevodio was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Exiquio and Francisco Garcia and Frank Juarez and 2 sister Luisa Ayala, and Felicatia DeAnda. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 PM and Wednesday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI, 734-241-4600, where funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 6:00 PM also on Wednesday. The Rev. Sally Martin will officiate. Interment will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park in Perrysburg, OH on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 12 noon. The family has suggested memorial contributions may be given to Heartland Hospice.
