Hesper "Bud" Owens, 68, of Port Huron, MI, died at 4:11 AM, Saturday, January 20, 2007 in Mercy Hospital, Port Huron where he had been since Christmas Day. He had been in poor health for 5 weeks and seriously ill since entering hospital. Friends may call 4-8 PM Monday at the Bacarella Funeral Home, Monroe where services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday. The Rev. John P. Bullard Jr., associate pastor of Grape Missionary Baptist Church will officiate, and burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. He was born May 21, 1938 in Harrogate, TN to Arthur and Dorsia (Sandefur) Owens. He came to Monroe in 1944 from Harrogate with his family. On March 13, 1965 he married Margaret A. Dunmore in Ann Arbor, MI. They have been residents of Port Huron since 1967. He was employed as a truck driver by Diamond Crystal Salt, St. Clair, MI for 15 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Port Huron and enjoyed reading and counted cross-stitching. He is survived by his wife, his mother, brother, Carl L. (Linda) Owens of Dundee, 2 sisters, Kathleen Smith of Knoxville, TN and Patsy J. (John) Lawson of Dundee. His father preceded him in death November 9, 2006.
