Herman E. Weller, age 87 of LaSalle, MI, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023 in his home.
Born October 31, 1935 in Toledo, OH, Herman was the son of the late Ernst and Ernestine (Roehrle) Weller. He was confirmed and attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1953 and attended Macomber Vocational School in Toledo. In 1966, he married Sharon L. Vorhies in Toledo.
Herman was a talented Pattern Maker. He designed auto parts while working for Ford Motor Company before becoming an Independent Contractor for several Toledo area shops, retiring in 1994.
Herman was an avid University of Michigan Football fan and enjoyed fishing. He frequented the Monroe Center for Healthy Aging where he often ate his meals and passed the time doing jigsaw puzzles. Mostly, Herman took pleasure in hanging out with his family and friends at his boathouse.
Herman is survived by a daughter, Dawn Lilley of Livingston, NJ; sister, Carol (Robert) Dusseau of Luna Pier, MI; and his life companion, Mary Fletcher of LaSalle, as well as several loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Robert, and Carl Weller; two sisters, Helen Patton and Nancy Smucker.
Information regarding a celebration of Herman's life will be made available through social media. Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation and inurnment arrangements through Roselawn Memorial Park.
