Henry Sebesta, 84, of Monroe, passed away at 12:23 AM, Friday, March 7, 2008 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, OH. He had been in poor health since January 19th. He was born June 11, 1923 in Monroe, MI to Frank and Frances (Hannak) Sebesta, a lifelong resident of the area, he served his country proudly during WW II in the Army. On March 25, 1950 he married Betty Cloum at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroe. Henry was employed for 25 years by Monroe Auto Equipment, then Dana Corp, Toledo until his retirement. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, and a true outdoorsman, who enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and trapping turtles. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Betty, cherished daughter, Candy (Phillip) Michael, and endeared grandchildren, Amanda Michael and Brennen Sebesta-Michael, all of Monroe, and a sister, Ruth Ann (Bill) Parker of Onsted. Sadly, his parents and a sister, Marjorie Preston preceded him in death. Friends may call 5-8 PM Saturday and 1-8 PM Sunday at the Bacarella Funeral Home. A scripture service will be held at 7 PM Sunday. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home at 10:15 AM Monday, followed b a Mass of the Resurrection at 11 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Fr. Aaron DePeyster of St. Mary Catholic Church, Monroe will officiate, and interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe. Memorial gifts in his name may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
