Obituary

Helen (Turner) Treece, 86, was born March 30, 1935, in Middlesboro, KY. She was the daughter of the late William Henry and Lizzie (Tennyson) Turner. She married Junior E. Treece on September 2, 1955, in Tazewell, TN. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2003
She was a graduate of Middlesboro High School, Middlesboro, KY. She had worked at Woolworths Store in Middlesboro, KY before marriage and then was a homemaker. She was a current member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church, its JOY Choir, Sunday School class secretary, Women's Missionary Group #12, Widows Group, and had served in earlier years in church as Cradle Roll worker, GA leader, and VBS worker. She loved reading, crafting, crocheting, wordsearch puzzles, and spending time with family.
She is survived by daughter Jackie (Mike) Walters of Monroe; sons, Larry Joe (Debbie) Treece of Monroe, Henry (Cindy) Treece of Oregon, OH, Jim (Mari) Treece of Monroe, Jeff (Gina) Treece of Flat Rock, Jason (Kristina) Treece of Monroe; sister, Mildred Grassley of Monroe; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, Betty Treece, J.C. and Lavern Turner and infant Doyle Turner.
The family would like to thank Alice Lorraine Care Center for the exceptional care and love given to our mother. Thank you also to ProMedica Hospice for the great care given in the last weeks.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Bacarella Funeral Home, where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Roy Southerland officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle, MI.
