Helen J. Milhan, age 84, of Monroe, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.
Helen was born January 9, 1938 in Lee County, Virginia. She was the daughter of Marshall and Ethel (Fowler) Ellison. She married Duwayne Milhan at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church in 1957.
She was a cook working for La-Z-Boy, Ford Motor Monroe Plant, Duff's, Guardian Glass and St. Mary's IHM before her retirement in 2000.
Helen attended North Monroe Street Church of God and obtained her GED through Jefferson Adult Education.
She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
Helen is survived by her three children, Mark W. Milhan, Paul A. (Tracy) Milhan and Shari L. Milhan all of Monroe; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Orbin and Henry Lee Ellison.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 12 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe. Rev. Rick Massingill, pastor of North Monroe Street Church of God, will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
