?Helen J. Merz, 77 years, of Monroe, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 7:26 Pm in Oakwood Annapolis Hospital in Wayne, Michigan.
Born May 2, 1935 in Monroe, Michigan, Helen was the daughter of Paris J. and Rhoda Jane (Rogers) Monday. Helen was a 1953 graduate of Ida High School. On October 16, 1954 Helen married Rudy Merz in Monroe, MI.
Helen was a wonderful homemaker, seamstress, pianist and artist and was a former member of Toledo Baptist Temple in Toledo, Ohio.
Helen is survived by three sons: Robert L. Merz of Greer South Carolina, Rick R. (Carolina) Merz of Houston, Texas, and Roger A. (Chris) Merz of Petersburg, Michigan, six cherished grandchildren: Brandon, Carilyn, Justin, Rikki and Alicia Merz, and Natasha Miller, 2 treasured great grandchildren: Mason and Evan Miller, and a brother P.J. (Grace) Monday of Monroe. In addition to her parents Helen was preceded in death by a brother Wayne Monday.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 beginning at 1:00 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe followed by funeral services celebrating Helen's life will at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Thomas Frantz, pastor of Blissfield Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
