Helen R. Dussia's Obituary
Helen Ruth Dussia, age 88, of La Salle, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Medilodge of Monroe.
Helen was born January 5, 1933, in Cucumber, West Virginia. She was the daughter of William and Minnie Chappell. She married Duane Dussia October 17, 1953.
Helen was a graduate of Big Creek High School. She was a Registered Nurse at Monroe Hospital and Flower Hospital before becoming a private duty nurse.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses – Monroe. She loved her dachshund dogs, and through the years she had Ginger, Heidi and her current companion Gretchen.
Helen is survived by her husband of 67 years, Duane Dussia of LaSalle; brother, Wayne Chappell of Maryland, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Robert, and two sisters, Pauline and Margaret.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Road. Burial will be private at Roselawn Memorial Park.
