Heather Anné McLaughlin-Ortiz was received in the arms of her Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, May 13, 2024 due to an unexpected heart event.
Born on September 5,1983 in Monroe, she was the daughter of David Sr. and Marie (Beauvais) McLaughlin.
Heather was always a true friend, putting others above self at all costs. Heather loved fiercely and greatly. She loved her children, Laylah, Noah and Loghan the most with immense strength and determination. Heather's greatest joy was being a stay-at-home mom. She cherished going on field trips and being a room mom. Her children were her whole life.
In the past four years Heather received so much joy from her niece Gia (Giavanna) and nephew Tripple (David III). From toddler manicures with Gia to snuggling with Tripple her time with them was treasured.
Heather enjoyed music, especially concerts. One of Heather's first concerts was a Michael W. Smith concert with her dad. That night both of their lives were changed forever. Heather clung to Jesus through every trial in her life.
Left to cherish Heather's memories are her mother Marie, and Heather's three children Laylah, Noah and Loghan Ortiz of Monroe. Beloved sister to David J (Gina Lollio) McLaughlin II of Monroe; Nicole (Rick) Kidd of Monroe; and brother by choice Matthew A. Craig of Monroe. Beloved Aunt to Giavanna and David J McLaughlin III; Landon Hounshell; McKenzie and Cameron Kidd. She is also survived by her grandmother, Betty Ann McLaughlin of Monroe, several aunts, uncles, cousins and their families.
Heather was preceded in death by her father David J. McLaughlin Sr., and grandparents Peter C and Mary J Beauvais.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 20, 2024 from 11 a.m. until funeral services at 2 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
