Obituary

Harvey R. "Little Ray" Clarkson, 81 years, of Monroe, MI passed away, Sunday, March 23, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, OH. He had been in poor health for 2 years. Harvey was born October 31, 1926 in Middlesboro, KY the son of the late Harvey and Mattie (Sulfridge) Clarkson. He married Beulah B. Ayers. Sadly she preceded him in death on October 9, 1994. Harvey owned and operated Little Ray's Truck Stop and the Night Hawk Tavern both in Bedford Township. He also owned and operated the Country Auction in Blissfield, MI from which he retired in 1982. Harvey served his country during World War II as a Training Sergeant. Harvey is survived by his children; Michael R. (Dorreen) Clarkson of Maumee, OH, Ronald E. (Tracy) Clarkson of Monroe, MI and Eilene (Steven) Patton of Bartow, FL. 5 grandchildren; Whitney, Michael, Tammy, Stephanie and Bradley, and 1 great granddaughter Jasmine Martinez. There will be no visitation or viewing private family services will be held. The Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Memorial contributions may be given to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe.
