Harry J. Moyer, age 65, a lifelong resident of Monroe, MI passed away Friday, February 20, 2009 at 6:59 PM in the Emergency Room at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe. Harry had been in declining health for several years. Born in Monroe, MI on November 21, 1943, Harry was the son of the late Harold D. and Mary E. (Payne) Moyer. Harry attended Monroe Public Schools and was a graduate of Monroe High School. On October 9, 1976 Harry married his beloved wife the former Gloria May Benore in Luna Pier, MI. Harry was employed as a fuel deliveryman by the Texaco Gas Stations both in Monroe and Dundee for many years. Harry was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he served as a trustee, worked with the church youth, and was instrumental in coordinating Vacation Bible School. Harry enjoyed fishing and gardening. Harry is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years Gloria, 4 loving daughters; Beverly Benore of Monroe, Angela Benore of Marble, PA, Jennifer Moyer of Monroe and Connie Glennon of Toledo, OH, 6 grandchildren; Anthony, Linda, Leah, Matthew, Cleveland and Constacine and 1 great granddaughter Amara De'Vault. In addition to his parents Harry was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Moyer. Visitation will be held at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe, on Monday, February 23, 2009 from 11:00 AM until funeral services celebrating his life at 4:00 PM. The Rev. Charles K. McCollum pastor of Faith Baptist Church will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church.
