Harold D. Schlipp, age 75 of Monroe, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Wellspring Lutheran Home.
Born February 5, 1948 in Benton Harbor, MI, Harold was the son of Harold and Ida (Schott) Schlipp.
After graduating high school, Harold enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country during the Vietnam War from Feb. 5, 1965 until being honorably discharged on Jan. 30, 1970. For his time of service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. After his time in the Navy, Harold was employed as a truck driver for most of his working life.
A steadfast Christian, Harold was a member of CrossPointe Church where he faithfully attended Sunday and Wednesday services.
Harold is survived by a brother, Henry Schlipp, and several nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to attend a memorial visitation from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26th at Bacarella Funeral Home. At 4 p.m., military honors will be provided by Monroe VFW Post 1138 followed by Rev. Jay Anderson, pastor of CrossPointe Church. At Harold's request, his earthly remains will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to CrossPointe Church.
