Harold E. "Corky" Gearhart, 75, of Temperance, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025 in his home surrounded by loved ones, after a long illness.
Corky was born December 14, 1949 in Monroe. He was raised by his mother and stepfather Rosezella (Pinchoff) and Miller Branstetter. He married Kathy Lane in January 1975.
Corky had a great love of sports and excelled as an athlete. He was a 1968 graduate of Monroe High School, where he was a track star. In later years, he played flag football, softball and golf. He also was an avid fisherman and hunter. He coached Ida Youth football for many years, those were some of his happiest memories.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathy; sons, Joshua Luke Gearhart and Jacob Richard (Alicia Kundtz) Gearhart and beloved granddaughters, Maya and Lily Gearhart.
He is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather; brother, Galen "Smokey" Branstetter and maternal grandparents, Andrew and Daisy Pinchoff.
Memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025 at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI.
