Grace Susan Kush, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in McAlester, Oklahoma on January 15, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with dementia.

A memorial service was held on February 12, 2026 at All Saints Episcopal Church in McAlester, OK. A memorial visitation will be held from 12 pm to 7 pm on Monday, June 1st at Bacarella Funeral Home.

Grace was born on January 21, 1931, in Monroe, Michigan, to first-generation Serbian immigrants, Nicholas Cvetkovich and Mary (Oklejas) Cvetkovich. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as six of her older brothers and sisters.

Grace dedicated much of her life to caring for others through her work as a certified nurse’s aide, where she was known for her compassion and empathy. She will be lovingly remembered for her firecracker personality, her strong work ethic, and her impeccably clean home—traits that reflected both her pride and her love for family.

She is survived by her son, Richard Kush and his wife, Patricia, of McAlester, Oklahoma; daughter, Donna Kush of Adrian, Michigan; her grandchildren, Brandy Jamison, Jennifer Herrin, and Gabrielle Hubler; her great-grandchildren, Christian, Mina, Lilly, Teagan, Declan, Elicia, Andrew, and Kolton; and her great-great-grandchildren, Justin, Jayden, and Jaylah.
