Gloria A. Janks, 85, of Carleton, passed away at 7 AM, on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Fountainview of Monroe. She had been in poor health for 3 weeks. Gloria was born August 5, 1924 in Detroit, MI to Charles and Edith (Egner) Bergeron. She was a Graduate of Southwestern High School, Detroit. On January 6, 1943 she married Leslie C. Janks, they moved to the area in 1964 from Grosse Ile. Sadly, he preceded her in death on October 16, 1995. A homemaker, she also worked as a cook at Jefferson Schools for 15 years, retiring in 1985. Gloria enjoyed crafts, bowling, and sewing. She was a resident of the Carleton Co-op Senior Apartments since 1997, where she was very active, well known, and loved by the other residents. She greatly enjoyed living there with all of her friends! She will be missed very much by her loving daughters, Starr (Charles) Federico of Carleton and Gail (Larry) Pillette of Monroe, a cherished sister, Dawn Molnar of Phoenix, AZ, her beloved grandchildren, Eric (Jodi) Pillette, Corey Pillette, Leslie (Derek )Anderson, and Ellise Federico, and precious great grandchildren, Caden, Averie, and Teagen Pillette. As well as her husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother and 4 sisters. Friends may call at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Road, Monroe, MI 48161, on Friday, January 29, from 2-8 PM, where funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10 AM Saturday. Entombment will take place, next to her husband, at Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock. Memorial gifts in her name may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
