Gerald L. "Jerry" Ravary, age 76, of Monroe, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Born December 21, 1948 to Howard Louis and Frances Cecelia (Pete) Ravary, Jerry grew up in Monroe. After graduating high school, he went on to serve in the United States Army, serving from 1969 until 1970 in the Vietnam War, being honorably discharged in 1971. During his time in the Army, Jerry was lucky enough to meet his future soulmate, Linda M. Dent. Linda was serving her country as a nurse at Valley Forge Military Hospital and Jerry happened to be one of her patients, the connection was immediate, and they knew they had to stay in touch. Stay in touch they did, as they were married on March 30, 1972 in Caledonia, Minnesota. Together they would spend a wonderful 52 years together before her passing on September 18, 2024.
In his working life Jerry worked as a SPC Coordinator for Ford Motor Company for 30 years before his retirement in 2003. During retirement he found his passion for building computers. Anything technology-based was Jerry's forte, if a family member or friend needed help with their computer Jerry was the one to call and he was more than happy to help. He also had a treasured collection of clocks, which he kept all throughout the house. Jerry's passion for his unique hobbies will be greatly missed.
Jerry is survived by his three loving children: Jody D. (Micki) Ravary, of Bloomington, Illinois, Jill A. (Lance) Mullins of Brownstown, Michigan, and Jessica L. (Sean) O'Sullivan of Monroe, Michigan; seven treasured grandchildren: Matt, Ryan, Autumn, Brianna, Zachary, Zoie, and Delaney; and a beloved great-granddaughter, Kylie.
In addition to his wife Linda M. (Dent) Ravary, Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, two grandsons: Bradley and Tyler, and his eleven siblings.
