George Mesora, 95, of Monroe, died at 6:17 AM, Sunday, March 18, 2007 in the Mercy Memorial Nursing Center where he had been a resident for about 4 years. He had been in poor health for 10 years. He was born March 25, 1911 in Sharon, PA to George and Mary (Frazen) Mesora. He married Ann Tomulet in 1935 in Detroit. He was a tool and die maker, employed by Vicers, Detroit, for 35 years, then Federal Screw Works, Detroit for 14 years, retiring in 1976. He came to Monroe from Texas in 1998, prior to that he had been a resident of Allen Park for 40 years. Survivors include a nephew, Robert Navarre of Monroe, and 3 grandchildren, Crystal Mohr, George Thomas Mesora Jr., and Nick Mesora. Sadly, his wife and a son, George Thomas Mesora Sr., preceded him in death in 1998. Friends may call at 9 AM Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, where a Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. Fr. Stephen Rooney, pastor of the church, will officiate. Memorial gifts in his name may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
