Obituary

Gail Ann Ford, age 70, of Ida, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022 in her home surrounded by family.
Gail was born October 15, 1951 in Monroe. She was the daughter of William Frank and Reba Irene (Mosingo) Cox and was raised by her mother and stepfather, Wetzel Wells. She married William T. Ford June 17, 1993.
She was a 1971 graduate of Monroe High School. She attended Stewart Road Church of God and Monroe Full Gospel Church and was a member of the Bedford Jaycees.
For many years, Gail was employed as a waitress and manager at various restaurants in the Monroe area. After retiring from the restaurant industry, she cleaned houses and helped senior citizens.
She was a devoted Mimi, enjoying every moment spent with her family. She enjoyed traveling and especially touring caves. She was known for the beautiful candy houses that she made and would sometimes donate to charities to be auctioned. She also liked to garden, make cookies and driving her golf cart around the property at the cabin.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 29 years, Bill of Ida; two children, Patricia "Trish" (Jason) Spaulding of Dundee and Robert (Wendy) Smith of Petersburg; five step children, William (Shelia) Ford of LaSalle, Daniel (Teresa) Ford of Eau Claire, Jennifer Parkhurst of Monroe, Brian (Annie) Ford of Monroe and Jeff Ford of Monroe; five siblings, Sandy (Larry) Lambert of Carleton, Michael Cox of CA, Larry (Darlene) Wells of Blissfield, Gary (Loraine) Wells of Monroe and Tammy Jaufmann of North Palm Beach, FL; twenty seven grandchildren and great grandchildren plus one on the way.
She is preceded in death by her father, mother and stepfather, sister, Pammy and stepson, Steven Ford.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home 1201 S. Telegraph Road, Monroe. She will lie instate at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Stewart Road Church of God 1199 Stewart Road, Monroe with funeral services at 11 a.m. Rev. Brenda Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn memorial Park, LaSalle.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to ProMedica Hospice.
