Obituary

Frederick A. LaBeau, 55 years, of Monroe, MI passed away Monday, December 10, 2007 at 7:18 PM at Mercy Memorial Hospital. Fred had been in poor health for 2 years. Fred was born August 22, 1952 the son of James M. and the late Elizabeth M. (Hess) LaBeau. Fred attended and graduated from St. Mary Grade School. Fred was a 1970 graduate of Monroe Catholic Central High School where he was a class officer, played baseball, and was a tri-captain of the school's first state football championship team. Fred received a football scholarship from Western Michigan University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in business. In the 1970s Fred was a member of the Peace Corps. On July 13, 1988 in Clearwater, FL Fred married Miriam Csordas. Fred was employed as a mortgage officer at MBT Mortgage Company in Monroe for the past 6 years. Prior to that, he was employed by National City Bank in Monroe. Fred was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where he was baptized and confirmed, the Knights of Columbus Council 1266 in Monroe, and a former member of the Monroe Exchange Club. Fred enjoyed traveling and traveled extensively throughout Europe and South America. Fred is survived by his beloved wife Miriam and his cherished children Christopher A. and Elizabeth M. LaBeau, both at home; his father James M. LaBeau Sr. of Monroe; 4 brothers: James M. (Kathleen) LaBeau Jr. of Chicago, IL, Thomas J. (Doris) LaBeau of New Boston, MI, Ronald D. (Patricia) LaBeau of Monroe, and Jonathan P. (Amy) LaBeau of Monroe; 2 sisters: Mary L. (Mark) Sisco of Williamston, MI and Beth A. (Thomas) Dusseau of LaSalle, MI; his wife's parents Rodolpho and Rosa S. Csordas of Portugal; and several nieces and nephews. His mother Elizabeth preceded him in death on October 25, 1998. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home. On Friday, December 14, 2007 he will lie instate at St. Mary Catholic Church from 10:00 AM until Mass of the Resurrection celebrating his life at 11:00 AM. Fr. Marc A. Gawronski will officiate. In accordance with Fred's wishes, cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Central High School or St. Mary Catholic Grade School.
