Obituary

Frankilene Weiss Kerkenbush, 85 years, of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.
Born May 5, 1940, in Harlan, Kentucky, Frankie was the daughter of the late Frank D. and Minnie Ella (Farmer) Standifer. Frankie moved to Monroe in the 1950's and was a 1958 graduate of Monroe High School. She went on to attend and graduate from Latress Beauty Academy.
On October 7, 1997, Frankie married her beloved husband, Roger D. Kerkenbush, in Toledo, OH. Sadly, he preceded her in death on November 2, 2023, after 26 years of marriage. Her first marriage was to Richard E. Hensley; her second marriage was to Joseph A. Weiss.
Frankie worked as a hairdresser for several hair salons in Monroe. Prior to getting her beauticians license, she also had other various jobs in the Monroe area.
Frankie was a dedicated member of the Flat Rock Church of God and a member of The Monroe Center for Healthy Aging. She enjoyed bowling, arts and crafts, working with flowers, and playing softball for Steve's Tavern. Frankie also had a beautiful singing voice and loved singing. Most of all Frankie enjoyed time spent with family.
Frankie is survived by three loving children: Michael R. Hensley, James R. Hensley and Joseph A. (Lisa) Weiss, all of Monroe, seven cherished grandchildren: Kurstyn, James, Shane, Shelly (Gerald), Kayla (Brandon), Joey (Lexi), and Riquel, seven treasured great grandchildren: Ella, Jimmy, Skylar, Samantha, James, Nora, and Pierson, and four siblings: Joyce Hellenberg of Glasgow, KY, Colin (Edy) Standifer of Dayton, OH, Reba (Mike) Maloney of Gallatin, TN, and John Standifer of Flat Rock.
In addition to her husband and parents, Frankie was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela K. Moffitt, a granddaughter, Kinsey Hensley, a great grandson Mazin, and four siblings: Gary Standifer, "Sis" Sortor, Yvonne "Dee" Nocella, and Bill Standifer.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. Monroe, Michigan, 48161 where funeral services celebrating Frankie's life will begin that afternoon at 2:00 pm. The Rev. Roy Southerland will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
