Frankie Sue Harris, age 81, of Monroe, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the Gardens of Carleton with her loving family by her side.
Frankie was born October 19, 1944 in Monroe; she was the daughter of Charles "Frank" and Reba "Pearl" (Beason) McBee. She married Charles Harris on August 2, 1963 in Monroe; sadly he passed February 8, 2008. She was a 1962 graduate of Monroe High School. Later she worked as a custodian and bus driver for Monroe Public Schools until her retirement in June 2000.
She loved Jesus and reading her Bible daily; a faithful member raised in Monroe Missionary Baptist Church where she was an Acteen leader, Sunday School teacher, and sang in a Christian traveling quartet. She was a charter member of Heritage Baptist Church, where she still attended as her health allowed. Frankie loved to go shopping, going out to eat, sewing, quilting and flower gardening. She also enjoyed traveling and was able to take several trips prior to her illness.
Frankie was a hardworking, loving mother and grandmother whose family meant everything to her. She took great pride in caring for her family, her immaculately clean home and well-manicured lawn. She also loved and fussed over her spoiled little pup, Bella.
She is survived by her three children, Rodney (Laura) Harris of Monroe, Robin (Bryan) Opfermann of Monroe and Rhonda (Robert) Davis of Harrison, MI; nine grandchildren, Eric, Ashley and Austin Wickenheiser, Abby Mayhanagian, Michael Opfermann, Sarah Sisty, Jacob Foley, Kyle and Corey Davis and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Charles "Junior" and Dendalee "Dick" McBee; a sister, Geneva Bazick; special uncle and aunt, Herb and Hett Keck and in-laws, Jesse and Bonnie Harris.
In keeping with Frankie's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. A private celebration of life for immediate family members will be held at a later date.
