Frank Joseph Perna, 45 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 26, 2014 in his home.
Born July 15, 1969 in Monroe, Frank was the son of Joseph and Josephine (Mignano) Perna. Frank attended St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School, was a 1987 graduate of Monroe Catholic Central High School, and furthered his education by attending the University of Toledo.
On October 26, 1996, Frank married the love of his life, the former Christina Marie Wilhelm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe. Sadly, she preceded him in death on March 17, 2012.
Frank worked as a machine operator for Ford Motor Company's Monroe Plant.
Frank enjoyed writing and spending time on the "Love Your Wife Page" through Facebook, where he wrote about his beloved wife, whom he missed with all his heart, his page had many of followers. Frank will be remembered as a kind, caring and loving person with a huge heart. Most of all Frank loved family, especially his two children.
Frank is survived by two cherished children: Julia M. Perna and Frank Joseph Perna, II, his caring mother Josephine Perna, two loving siblings: Nino J. Perna of Toledo, OH and Annette (Jim) Sharrer of Monroe, and two nieces: Angelica Rose and Gabriella Marie Sharrer. In addition to his beloved wife Christina, Frank was preceded in death by his father Joseph on June 15, 2011.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-8 PM at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI, 48161 where a Rosary will be held that evening at 6:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 9:00 AM until funeral services celebrating his life at 11:00 AM, also at the Bacarella Funeral Home. Pastor Adam Davis of Elevate Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park where Frank will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife.
