Obituary

Frank J. Albano, 90 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan went home, peacefully, to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 with his family by his side.
Born September 27, 1934 in Monroe, Frank was the son of the late Andrew and Angeline (Volpi) Albano. Frank was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe. He attended St. Joseph Grade School and was a 1952 graduate of Monroe Catholic Central High School. While in high school he lettered in football, baseball, and track. He attended Wayne State University.
Frank served his country honorably and proudly in the United States Army. He was on active duty from 1957 – 1959 and in the reserves for two years after being honorably discharged. Most of his active duty was spent in Alaska.
On October 22, 1960, Frank married his beloved wife, the former Cynthia DiCarlo, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe.
Frank worked at Ford Motor Company's Monroe Plant for 32 years, from which he retired in 1985.
Frank was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe his entire life. When the church was closed in September of 2014, he and Cynthia transferred their membership to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Frank was quite an athlete. He played softball for Casper Migliore's softball teams for many years and was awarded batter of the year three times. He also enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and watching all types of sports. He especially loved watching the Michigan Wolverines play football. Nothing brought more joy to Frank than time spent with family.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Cynthia, three loving children: Andrew J. Albano, Lisa M. Dushane, and Frank J. (Cathy) Albano all of Monroe, five cherished grandchildren: Nicholas (Emily) Albano, Joe (Paulette) Albano, Brandon Dushane, Allison Albano, and Samuel Albano, and two treasured great grandchildren: Gianna and Aubrey Albano.
