Obituary

Flossie E. Sharp, 90, of Monroe, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007 in the Mercy Memorial Nursing Care Center, where she had been since November 14th. She had been in poor health for 2 years and seriously ill for 9 months. She was born December 12, 1916 in LaFollette, TN to William H. and Maudie M. (Martin) Kidd. On March 24, 1934 she married James A. Sharp in Kentucky. They came to Monroe in 1952 from there. Sadly, he preceded her in death on June26, 1990. A homemaker, she was a member of the Stewart Road Christian Ministries Center, and was a founding member of the ladies prayer group that meets on Wednesday's. She is survived by her loving children William (Geneva) Sharp, Kenneth (Rozella) Sharp, and Shirley (Donald) Goins, all of Monroe, and Douglas Sharp of Ann Arbor, 12 grandchildren, 18, great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. 2 sons, Homer and Jerry, 3 brothers, 4 sisters, and 2 great grandchildren also preceded her in death. Friends may call 1-8 PM Thursday at the Bacarella Funeral Home; she will lie in state Friday at the Stewart Road Christian Ministries Center from 10 AM until her funeral service at 11 AM. The Revs. Sam Luke and Fred Swank will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. Memorial gifts in her name may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
