Faro Gaglio, age 64 of Monroe, MI passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 10:45 PM in Mercy Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Faro had been in the hospital since Saturday and in poor health for several months. Faro was born October 16, 1942 in Cinisi, Sicily the son of the late Cesare and Pietra (Galati) Gaglio. Faro graduated from high school and attended college in Cinisi. He served in the Italian Armed Forces from 1963 – 1964. On December 23, 1965 Faro married his beloved wife Catherine Cusumano at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe. Faro was employed by Ford Motor Company in Monroe for 33 years, retiring in September of 2002. Faro was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Italian American Club in Monroe. He enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. Faro is survived by beloved wife Catherine, 3 loving children; Cesare (Lisa) Gaglio of LaSalle, MI, Salvatore (Kate) Gaglio of Chicago, IL and Pietra "Trina" (Wayne) Coulter of Monroe, MI. 2 sisters; Pina (Marco) Serra of Italy and Ninfa (James) Beckner of Monroe, MI and 5 cherished grandchildren. Visitation for Faro will be held on Friday from 12-9 PM and Saturday, July 28, 2007 from 10:00 AM in the Bacarella Funeral Home where prayers will be held at 12:15 PM followed by a procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass of The Resurrection celebrating Faro's life at 1:00 PM. Fr. Robert C. Mossett pastor of St. Anne's Catholic Church will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
