Evelyn Louise White, age 88 of Temperance, MI, formerly of Monroe, MI, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital after recently becoming seriously ill.
Born September 12, 1934 in Tazewell County, Virginia, Louise was the daughter of the late Walter and Minnie (Higgins) Barrett. After graduating from High School in Princeton, West Virginia in 1953, she married Rev. Dr. Clarence Eugene White on June 1, 1953 in Lerona, WV. Together they raised three children… and raised them correctly!
A life member of Pilgrim Holiness/Wesleyan Church, Louise embraced being a wife, mom, grandma and homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, unless Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy was on TV.
Louise is survived by her children, Steven (Brenda) White of Locust Grove, GA, Sharon (Thomas) Beckhoff of Lanexa, VA, and Jonathan (Renee') White of Monroe, MI; two sisters, Mary Smith of Shalimar, FL and Shirley Anderson of Kernersville, NC; eight grandchildren: Stacy (David) Molzhon, Kristy (Nick) Pollock, Stefanie (Andy) Belsha, Mark (Grace) Jones, Brianna (Rev. Jacob) Morton, Bradley (Shannon) Kosiara, Brooke (Austin) Salmon, and Bridgette Kosiara; 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-granddaughters. She will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody J. White, four brothers; three sisters; and son-in-law, Doug Jones.
Family and friends may visit from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14th at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. Rev. Andy Hill, Pastor of Bible Fellowship Church in Monroe, will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
