Eula Annette Bert, 66, of Monroe, died at 10 PM Sunday, September 24, 2006 in the Mercy Memorial Hospital, Monroe, where she had been for 2 weeks. She had been in poor health for 6 years and seriously ill for 6 months. She was born in Bolton, NC on June 11, 1940 to Vall D. and Eastell (Bentain) Gore, she moved to Monroe in 1956 from Bolton and was married to Floyd A. Bert on August 2, 1958 in Monroe, sadly, he preceded her in death August 25, 1990. She worked for at Kentucky Fried Chicken, N. Telegraph Road, for 18 years, retiring in 1991. She attended Monroe Missionary Baptist Church and was a very avid Detroit Tiger and Red Wing Fan. She enjoyed watching soap operas, especially "All My Children", cooking, spending time with her grandchildren, and collecting porcelain dolls and angels. Survivors include 2 sons, Michael H. and Rick A (Dorie) Bert both of Monroe, 2 daughters, Phyllis A. (James Coutts) Bert of Tecumseh and Debbie L. (Robert) Cicero of Monroe, and 6 grandchildren. Eight brothers and five sisters also preceded her in death. Friends may call at the Bacarella Funeral Home Tuesday from 5-9 PM, where services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday. Rev. Steve Pilarsh of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church will officiate and burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. Memorial gifts in her name may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
