Eugenia Lou "Gina" Collingsworth, 48 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, MI passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 2, 2010 in the emergency room at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe. Gina was born July 24, 1961 in Monroe, MI the daughter of Eugene S. and Barbara J. (Hance) Burt Sr. Gina attended and later graduated from Monroe Public Schools. On October 21, 1988 Gina married her beloved husband Scott A. Collingsworth in Toledo, OH. A homemaker first and foremost, Gina also worked outside the home, she was employed as a lab tech for Four Star Greenhouse in Carleton for 10 years, she worked as a newspaper carrier for the Monroe Evening News for 3 years and was currently employed as a cashier at Meijer in Monroe. Gina enjoyed and was an avid player of World of Warcraft, an avid Red Wings Fan and enjoyed playing bingo. Most of all Gina enjoyed her family; Gina is survived by her beloved husband of 21 years, Scott, her loving children: Benjamin S. (Amanda Chase) Collingsworth of Monroe and Alyssa D. Collingsworth at home, 2 cherished grandchildren; Amelia and Xadrian, her nurturing parents; Eugene and Barbara Burt Sr. of Monroe, a brother Eugene S. (Shawna) Burt Jr. of Monroe, 2 sisters; Patricia A. (Allan) Biedlingmaier and Tina D. (Luis) Alamo both of Monroe, in-laws William F. and Judy Collingsworth of Monroe a sister in law; Tracy L. (Dean) Dixon of Niles, MI and nieces and nephews; Jason, Justin, Carlina, Joni, Erich, Tabitha, Dylan, Savannah and Brianna. Gina was preceded in death by her grandparents. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2009 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Gary D. Harrah pastor of Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Wyandotte, MI will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family to benefit Gina's children.
