Ethel P. Corum, 91 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 22, 2021 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehab.
Born February 15, 1930 in Monroe, Ethel was the daughter of the late Fred and Myrtle (Miller) Cawood.
On October 25, 1948, Ethel married her beloved husband Charles E. Corum in Monroe. Sadly, Charles preceded her in death on November 25, 2008 after 60 years of marriage.
Ethel was a wonderful homemaker and one of her passions was cooking for her family. She took great pride, that along with her husband, she was a cross country tractor trailer driver for several years. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening and flower arranging. Nothing brought Ethel more joy than her dogs, her love animals, and time spent with family.
Ethel is survived by three loving children: Dan Corum of Colorado, Donna Corum of Monroe, and Larry (Mary) Corum of Alpena, MI, eight cherished grandchildren: Rebecca Corum, Dawn (Mark) Adams, Shawna (Jim) Tucker, Michelle (ST Arg) Rosario, Elizabeth (Terrence) Williams, Jason Corum, Christopher Corum, and Kevin Corum, ten treasured great grandchildren: Kayla (Ryan), Brittany, Jordan (Rob), Tyler, Brianna, Madison, Landon, Natalie, Maylie, and Zander, seven adored great great grandchildren, and her best friend, companion and beloved dog, Mia.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Ethel was preceded in death by a son, David Corum, two brothers and one sister.
In keeping with Ethel's wishes there will be no visitation or services and cremation will be held.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Humane Society of Monroe County.
