Elizabeth A. Owens, 62 years, of Carleton, MI, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Fountain View of Monroe, MI. Liz had been in declining health the past 4 ½ years.
Born November 7, 1948 in Loudon County, TN, Liz was the daughter of Carl E. and Nannie Mae (White) Wheeler. The family moved to Michigan in May of 1955.
On June 2, 1982 Liz married her beloved husband Kenneth M. Owens in Monroe. They were members of Monroe Primitive Baptist Church.
A homemaker, Liz enjoyed crafts, bingo, playing cards and dominos.
Liz is survived by her beloved husband Kenneth, her loving mother Nannie Mae Wheeler of Monroe, a son; Kenneth M. Owens II of Monroe, twin daughters; Stacy Ann Owens of Temperance, MI and Nannette Mae Owens of Detroit, MI, a brother Edward R. (Freda) Wheeler of Haleyville, AL, and 2 sisters; Carlene Kennedy of Haleyville, AL and Brenda (Al) Hutchinson of Kalamazoo, MI. Sadly, Liz was preceded in death by her father and her sister Hazel George.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011 in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd, in Monroe from 11:00 AM until funeral services celebrating her life at 1:00 PM. Elder Chuck Murphy will officiate.
