Elizabeth Bowling, age 95, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Fountain View of Monroe.
Elizabeth was born January 25, 1930 in Pruden, Tennessee, she was the daughter of William and Rose (Williams) Jones. She married Gerald W. "Jerry" Bowling September 28, 1950 in Fonde, KY, after nearly 65 years of marriage he preceded her in death July 9, 2015.
She was a member of Heritage Missionary Baptist Church, she enjoyed attending church services and her church family. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden and loved the time she spent with her family.
She had worked at Wrigley's Foods as a cashier.
She is survived by her two children, Gerald W. "Jerry" (Leah) Bowling, Jr. of Corryton, TN and Rosemary Lenz of Dundee; two sisters, Irene Teague of Powell Valley, TN and Nancy McCay of Dalton, GA; three sisters-in-law, Frankie Johnson, Mary Jones and Linda Jones; three grandchildren, Ajay (Jenna) Cousino, Alex Lenz and Jared (Sara) Bowling, seven great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Gerald W. "Jeb" Bowling, III, four brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 11-1 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, where service will begin at 1 p.m. Rev. Nate Click, pastor of Heritage Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Heritage Missionary Baptist Church.
