Eileen M. McGeady, 85 years, of Monroe, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Wellspring Lutheran Services.
Born December 14, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Mullan) McGeady. She was a graduate of Euclid High School in Cleveland.
Eileen worked as an administrative assistant for the United Transportation Union in Cleveland for 44 years from which he retired in 1989.
Eileen was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church while she lived in Cleveland. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church since moving to Monroe in 2000. Eileen enjoyed reading, watching old movies, and spending time with family, she especially enjoyed family dinners.
Eileen is survived by her sister: Marguerite A. Martin of Monroe many loving nieces and nephews, and two sisters-in-law: Irene McGeady of Ashtabula, OH and Darlene McGeady of Cleveland, OH.
In addition to her parents Eileen was preceded in death by two brothers: Charles and Francis McGeady and a niece Jennifer L. Martin – Layhew.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-8 pm in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI 48161, where a rosary service will be held that evening at 7:00 pm. On Wednesday, February 4, 2015 she will lie in state at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church from 10:00 am until Mass of the Resurrection celebrating her life at 11:00 am. Fr. James Smalarz, pastor of the church, will officiate.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe.
