Edward "Crazyhorse" Davis, age 76, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 29, 2023 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ed was born January 23, 1947 in Monroe; he was the son of Edward Miles and Mildred M. (Mullen) Davis.
He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1966 until his honorable discharge on February 13, 1968.
Ed worked for Ford Motor Company Monroe Plant for 30 years retiring in 1998.
Ed loved to gamble at casinos, he once visited 11 different casinos in one week. He also loved old cars, he had owned a 1951 Jaguar, a 1959 Ford, a 1955 Chery to name just a few.
He loved to travel the world, he visited Hawaii a dozen times, the Philippines several times and even living there for two years. He also visited Vietnam, Australia, Saigon, Thailand and Germany.
He is survived by his twin brother Joseph (Daphnia) Davis of Carleton; a sister, Diana (Marvin "Barney") Perry of Monroe; seven nieces and nephews, Joseph Scott Davis, Jenifer Lynn Daubenmeyer, Dwain Edward Davis, Amber Waldon, Philip Perry, Marvin Perry, Jr. and Wendy Perry and 14 great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2023 at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Road, Monroe, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Deacon Michael Stewart will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, with military honors performed by VFW Post 1138, Monroe.
