Geneva E. Wolfenbarger, 84, of Monroe, passed away, with her loving family by her side, at 6:15 AM, Thursday, May 29, 2008, in her home. She had been in poor health since February. She was born on September 11, 1923 in Middlesboro, KY to Hobart and Pansy (Hill) Evans. On October 17, 1940 she married Delmar (Owen) Wolfenbarger in Maynardville, TN. They came to Monroe in 1941 from Tazewell, TN. Sadly, he preceded her in death on October 5, 1994. Geneva worked as a press operator at Sharon Manufacturing, Temperance for 20 years; she enjoyed making porcelain dolls, quilting, and flower gardening. She will be missed by her children, Jack D. (Sandra) of Mesick, MI, Dennis M. (Kathy) of Berrien Springs, MI, Terry J. (Marla) of LaSalle, and Connie (Bob) Fleeman of Monroe, 21 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Two children, Phyllis Miller and Jerry L. Wolfenbarger, 2 grandchildren, Matthew Wolfenbarger and Johnna Miller, and 2 brothers Fred and Hubert Evans also preceded her in death. Friends may call at the Bacarella Funeral Home on Friday, May 30, 2008 from 1-8 PM, where services will be held on Saturday at 2 PM. Interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. Rev. James Jacobs, chaplain at Mercy Memorial Hospital will officiate. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in her name be given to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe.
