Drew S. Letasse, age 34 of Monroe, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023. Seriously ill for two weeks, he passed peacefully with his mom, sister, and friend Jodee at his side at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.
Born August 9, 1989 in Monroe, Drew was the son of Andrew and Kim (Fields) Letasse. He graduated from Monroe High School in 2007 and attended Monroe County Community College.
During his working life, Drew was employed by Costco, worked as an Iron Worker, and for Bay Corrugated. He was an animal lover, enjoyed fishing, cooking, writing, and gardening. When Drew was a boy, he played for the Ice Hawks in a youth hockey league for 9 years. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Red Wings and the Colorado Avalanche. Most of all he loved being an uncle.
Drew is survived by his mother, Kim Letasse; sister, Taylor Letasse; niece, River Letasse; "Mamaw", Carlene Fields; "Granny", Candy Letasse, all of Monroe; three aunts, Jill Fields, Jimma (Justin) Johnson, and Jami (Chris) Easter; two uncles, Scott (Bobbie) McMullen and Eric (Francesca) Letasse; and several cousins.
Drew was preceded in death by his father Andy; grandpa, Gene Letasse; "Boppee", Pat Fields; uncle, Jeff Letasse, and his pet dog, Trixie.
Family and friends may visit from 1 p.m. until time of funeral at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18th at Bacarella Funeral Home. Rev. Roy Southerland will officiate. Cremation will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
