Douglas A. Owsley, age 66, of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 in his home.
Douglas was born July 29, 1959 in Tecumseh, he was the son of Robert M. and Eula G. (Wilson) Owsley. He was married to Donna Farner, she precedes him in death.
He served his country in the US Navy from August 1976 until his honorable discharge in September 1979.
Doug was a graduate of Monroe High School. Through the years he worked at various jobs around the Monroe area including at Wal-Mart, Wendy's, Meijer and Guardian Glass.
He is survived by two children, Kalvin (Holly) Owsley and Sarah (Vernon) Tillman both of Monroe; a sister, Deborah (Dale) Libstorff of Monroe and seven grandchildren, Khloe, Dominik, Jahiziel, Jakobe, Nakiya, Mason and Ian.
He is preceded in death by his parents, ex-wife, Donna Owsley; Children, Robert Owsley and Jessica Sanchez; two sisters, Diane Turner and Karen Redman.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 from 12 p.m. until funeral services begin at 2 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe. Rev. Christopher Fairbairn will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
